At Connecting for Good, we highly value our volunteers who help us fulfill our mission and serve the urban core of Kansas City on a daily basis. Below is the list of available opportunities to help:
Provide students with training in various aspects of digital literacy such as knowledge of the mouse, internet skills, Microsoft Office, and help students build a strong relationship with the digital world. Classes are two hours each, at either of our sites and should be able commit to two hours a month.
Provide instructor-facilitated training in basic computer and internet skills, and empower students across the greater Kansas City area at one of our partner sites such as the Housing Authority of Kansas City Missouri and Youthbuild Ventures. Classes are two hours long and require a commitment of teaching at least two.
Help our students complete various computer tasks throughout their time in our open computer lab with skill-based guidance, with a commitment of two hours per week.
Aide our technology department with restoring computers that will be sold to our students. Technicians will be able to repair and maintain computer hardware and related software, resolve immediate operational and safety concerns, as well as procure and maintain supplies and materials. This requires a commitment of one day per week from 10am until 5pm for six weeks at our Kansas City, Kansas site.
